First “Courage for Cures Movie in the Park” Coming June 22
The Team Julian Foundation is becoming The Julian Boivin Courage for Cures Foundation this summer. And although the name is changing, our mission to give kids a fighting chance against the deadliest of childhood cancers remains the same.
To mark the occasion, the foundation will hold its first “Courage for Cures Movie in the Park” on Saturday, June 22 at Booth Park in Birmingham, Mich.
The evening will feature live music, face painting, clowns and balloon making at 7 p.m., followed by the presentation of one of Julian’s favorite films at sundown, “The Princess Bride.”
“Julian loved movies, popcorn, ice cream and dance parties,” said Julian’s mother and president of the foundation, Nettie Boivin. “In honor of what would’ve been Julian’s 7th birthday, we wanted to create a family-friendly event that has his personality stamped all over it.”
The alcohol-free event is open to the public with a suggested donation of $10/person. Generously sponsored by Ameriprise Financial, all proceeds from the event will support pediatric brain tumor research.
